Apart from diving, fishing and snorkeling there is one more sport which is quite popular in Belize, and that is cave tubing. Cave tubing is one adventure sport which can be enjoyed by all age groups from children to adults.
Cave tubing is done in caves which were earlier used by the Mayan civilization. These caves were once considered auspicious and sacred by the mighty Mayans who believed these caves to be the dwelling places of the gods. There are hundreds of explored and unexplored cave systems.
You can enjoy cave tubing in bathing suits or simply a shirt and shorts.
The caves are spectacular. Once in Belize, you will be amazed to see the marvels of nature. Bring a water proof camera to capture the exotic animals and bird-shaped stalactite formations.
Experts are always there to guide you through the citrus orchards to the river’s edge from where a brief float trip takes you into the ethereal caves. Don’t forget to bring an extra pair of clothes, shoes and footwear. And also bring along a fly repellant and sun block.
With spectacular cave formations and dense jungles, Belize has become a leading cave tubing destination. Catch the regular flights for Belize from the USA. Cave tubing is not dangerous, and with a qualified guide can be a wonderful and fun filled experience.
We as a member of the American Society of Travel Agents have expertise in arranging exciting cave tubing excursions and Belize jungle tours to make your Belize trip truly memorable. Besides, in Belize we also network with several reputed Belize jungle lodges and can arrange comfortable lodging facilities for you so that you can have a great time enjoying Belize and all its wonderful adventures.

Off the Belize mainland, in the turquoise Caribbean Sea, is the most astounding natural wonder – a large dark blue circle. Known as the Blue Hole, this circle gets its unusual dark blue color from the swirling waters of an underwater cave, over 400 feet deep.
Situated in the middle of the Lighthouse Reef, the famous Blue Hole figures amongst the top 10 diving site in the world and is listed as a World Heritage Site. No Belize adventure is complete without a visit to this wonder.
For millions of years the Blue Hole was just a dry cave where formation of massive stalactites and stalagmites took place. With the end of the last ice age, sea levels rose to cover the cave that ultimately led to the development of this natural hole in the middle of the sea. Even today, diving into the Blue Hole one can get a view of the remaining stalactites and stalagmites.
This incredible Blue Hole is located approximately 60 miles east of the mainland out of Belize City. It almost looks like a perfectly circular hole that measures approximately one quarter of a mile.
Except for two narrow channels, this deep blue hole is surrounded by coral reefs. The temperature in the Blue Hole at 130 feet is about 76 degrees F (24 C) all throughout the year.
After just one glance, it becomes clear that why Belizeans think it should be one of the seven wonders of the world. The Great Blue Hole, a Belize National Monument, is under the protection of the Belize Audubon Society. It became a World Heritage site in 1997.
If you are interested in diving the Blue Hole, arrangements can be made to have a qualified guide provide transportation and dive equipment. Many Belize hotels on Ambergris Caye will be a good place to begin this Belize adventure. Many luxury hotels have their own guides and dive shops.
A visit to Belize is a must for those who would like to experience the famed Blue Hole first hand. There are regular Belize departure flights from USA.
There are many attractive travel packages offered by Bob Jones’ Belize Holidays. As a member of the American Society of Travel Agents, we deal with the top Belize all inclusive resorts and other luxury hotels in Belize. When it comes to the cuisine of Belize, it is simply a cultural smorgasbord!
A Belize vacation is an ideal opportunity to get a taste of the richly diverse Belize cuisine. The cuisine is as varied as the rich cultures that come together to make this country a unique one. However, it’s hard to pin down any specific influence that plays a major role in defining the true Belizean flavor.
Belize is a food lovers’ paradise. And in fact, tourists on Belize vacations love to hunt out the little shops without fancy marquees, serving hot mouth watering Belizean foods. In any of these small restaurants, you can taste local dishes such as Chirmole, Escabeche, Panades, Salbutes, Garnaches, Tacos, Bollos, Tamalitos, Tamales, Cowfoot Soup and Burritos.
Moreover, in Belize, the seafood is simply amazing, with feasts of succulent lobster, conch, and a delicious array of fish, squid, mussels, scallops and even shark. Lobster and conch are seasonal and if you are vacationing in Belize during February to July, you can easily find it in a number of restaurants.
The most distinctive element of Belizean cuisine is the use of Marie Sharp’s Hot Sauce. Almost no food is complete without Marie Sharp’s. Many who have vacationed in Belize have their cupboards at home stocked with this sauce from their Belize vacation.
Added to this array are the luscious tropical fruits like pineapples, bananas, blackberry, may plums, mangoes, craboo cantaloupe, watermelons, oranges, soursop, grapefruits, tangerines, star fruit, figs, and much more.
It’s also simply impossible to neglect the rice and beans on the menu. It is the number one choice for Belizeans.
Belizean food can be peppery like the heat of the tropical sun, and at the same time as cool and refreshing like the soothing sea wind.
Give it a try on your Belize vacation. Most of the Belize hotels and Belize vacation rentals are close to major eateries specializing in Belizean foods.
Plan your Belize vacation to this majestic land of wonders and feast on the popular gourmet dishes.
Reaching Belize for a vacation is very easy as it is well connected with the USA (just a two hour hop on major airlines such as American Airlines, Delta etc.).

Belize might look like a tiny spot on the map, but when it comes to diversity Belize can give any other popular tourist spot a run for its money.
Blessed with the bounties of nature, Belize Islands has everything from dense tropical forests, and the deep blue sea to an ancient civilization and diverse cultural heritage and of course an awesome ecological diversity – all that a place needs to attract tourists from across the globe. Very few tourist places offer what Belize does - all kinds of adventurous activities from jungle tours to marine sports to history tours in one place!
Natural wonders of the Belize coastline
When we talk about Belize, the first feature that comes to mind is its amazing coastline and the richness of marine life. Belize Islands is home to the second longest barrier reef in the world along with three major offshore atolls such as Lighthouse Reef, Glover’s Reef and the Turneffe Islands.
Just the mere presence of the world’s second largest coral reef is not the only factor behind a rich and diverse coastal environment in Belize. There are numerous mangrove systems located both offshore and along the coast that also help in creating a tremendous wetlands environment.
Moreover, the whole coastline and the Islands of Belize is marked by coastal lagoons, estuaries, and wetlands - ecosystems that are among the most fertile and productive found anywhere else in the world.
To enjoy the richness of sea, one must definitely visit some places in Belize Islands, such as:
The Blue Hole
Located in the middle of Lighthouse Reef Atoll, the Blue Hole is a perfect circular hole which is visible from the outer space. It is 1,000 feet in diameter and almost 412 feet deep. It is the most famous dive site in Belize.
Half Moon Caye National Monument
Located at the southeast corner of Lighthouse Reef Atoll, Half Moon Caye National Monument is the first reserve made by the Natural Parks System Act of 1981. The main motive behind its creation was to provide protection to the Red-footed Booby bird and its rookery.
Laughing Bird Caye National Park
Located thirteen miles southeast of Placencia Village in the Stann Creek District, Laughing Bird Caye National Park was established to assist the large number of laughing gulls in re-establishing their presence.
Hol Chan Marine Reserve
Established in 1987, Hol Chan Marine Reserve is located close to Ambergris Caye and Caye Caulker, off the coast of Belize. It covers approximately 18 km of three distinctive zones including coral reefs, seagrass beds, and mangrove forest.
Shark Ray Alley
Located inside the Hol Chan Marine Reserve, the Shark Ray Alley is one of the prime marine attractions in the Caribbean. Here, one can get to the see dozens of Southern Stingrays and Nurse Sharks from close proximity.
Due to its significant marine ecosystem, Belize has become the best destination for scuba divers, marine biologists, and sport fishermen. No matter when you visit or for how long, Belize is full of adventure and discovery the whole year round.
To make your Belize vacation a memorable one, we at Bob Jones’ Belize Holidays offer many attractive travel packages to suit your requirements.
